Why We Should All Be Anti-Abortion

Abortion has, is and will always be one of the most polarizing and controversial topics that has been debated in the last 40 years. The abortion issue has been the center of many political debates, often deciding the winner or loser for a political seat. And I've been involved in couple of heated debates concerning the abortion issue at my family's dinner table and at work.

It's one of those issues that you're either you're for or you're against and there is no middle ground. And there seems to be no right or wrong answer. No amount of logic or biblical teaching resolves this debate. It's a touchy issue that revolves around freedom and choice. Therefore, I tend to stay away from those debates. There is no winning or convincing someone of the "right" or "wrong" side of the issue.

But what I'm talking about today in my blog isn't about aborting an unborn human fetus inside of a woman but the abortion of your dreams and your potential. It happens all the time. People bury their dreams. They have gifts and talents but never expose or pursue them. They delay their dreams with the hope of one day retiring from their dull, boring job and then living their dreams. Or they let money, circumstances and other peoples negative comments prevent their dreams. So most of us settle and hope things change.

 

According to Dr. Myles Munroe, throughout time the great and small works of individuals - be they paintings, books, music, poetry, drama, architecture, inventions or the development of theories - have affected the lives of many. All who have helped to inspire us - used their potential with a passion and refused to let circumstances dictate their future. Their released potential is the world's inheritance.

Each of us comes into this world with an assignment to fulfill. So your potential or gift is not about YOU. "The price of greatness is responsibility", stated Sir Winston Churchill. So fulfilling your dreams is about completing your assignment for this world and leaving a legacy for others to follow and benefit from.
